Counsellor & Psychotherapist
Varuna works with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, challenging relationship & family dynamics, parenting challenges and grief, with specialization in attachment trauma.
Varuna focuses on supporting clients in understanding themselves deeply and reconnecting with their authentic self. She uses a trauma-informed approach to facilitate clients in uncovering the roots of such beliefs, address any unresolved emotional needs and create healthier beliefs and patterns to achieve lasting change.
Varuna’s approach is grounded in empathy and compassion to meet every client where they are in their journey. She integrates different therapeutic approaches to address issues on a cognitive, emotional and physical level while supporting clients through unresolved past experiences for a whole person approach.
Being an Indonesian-born Indian who lived in Australia before making Hong Kong her home, Varuna has first-hand experience in balancing contradicting cultural values and channels it to support clients in balancing their roles with the needs of their authentic self.
As a mother of two little boys, Varuna is committed to conscious and respectful parenting practices as well as mental health advocacy to break the stigma around psychotherapy in South Asian communities.
