Bea Smith

Counsellor & Psychotherapist

Bea Smith

Bea provides strengths-based, trauma-informed counselling for adults, adolescents and families. She helps clients facing a range of challenges including anxiety, depression, low self-worth, relationship difficulties, neurodivergence, trauma recovery, as well as eating, exercise, and body image concerns. Her holistic approach blends cognitive behavioural methods with emotionally-focused, experiential techniques that are tailored to each individual.

Bea supports lasting change by using an attachment lens and exploring how past experiences and broader cultural context shape present thoughts, feelings and behaviours. She works collaboratively with clients to choose a suitable direction for therapy and explore emotions at a comfortable pace, helping them take practical steps forward towards their goals. Clients are encouraged to self-reflect between sessions, respond differently to triggers, and build up coping strategies for stress.

From a multicultural family, Bea lived in New Zealand and the UK before moving to Hong Kong in 2014. She brings a culturally humble, identity-affirming approach, informed by past work in language education and NGOs working with diverse groups of people. She is also a corporate trainer and lived-experience charity ambassador, working to support staff wellbeing and challenge mental health stigma in the community.
